Last Night at Chateau Marmont by Lauren Weisberger

5.0

I really enjoyed Last Night at Chateau Marmont and gave it five stars. I've read all of Lauren Weisberger's books and found this one to be much more compelling and substantial than her other books. Once the action in the book began (after Brooke and Julian met), I couldn't wait to find out what happened next, and how the characters would react.

At the beginning of the book, I didn't forsee how much I would like the main characters. There were a few things Brooke put up with that I wouldn't have in the beginning, but they were minor things. I did find Brooke naive at times, but not so much that I didn't empathize with her.

As someone who has read a lot of celebrity gossip, I hadn't given much thought to all of the lies that are printed, and how much hounding and pressure celebrities get from the media. So much of the things that we say about celebrities is unfounded and judgmental. It was kind of an eye-opener for me.
