Darken the Stars
by Amy A. Bartol
This was a fun little series to read until this book. Nothing in this book represented Kricket at all and I felt as if it went against everything she stood for. She just gave up? Made half hearted attempts at escaping? The writing and portrayal of Kricket in this book was disappointing and honestly, didn't convince me. It felt like a half hearted attempt to please fans by giving her a romance with Kyon. Which I also had problems with. Their relationship was so forced it was unbelievable, not to mention how it romanticized abuse and sexual assault. What a weak way to end a pretty good series. 😞
