Every Now & Then by Karen Kingsbury

In the third and final book of Kingsbury's 9/11 series, we meet Alex Brady. Clay and Jamie Michaels have befriended this K9 deputy. Alex's father was a firefighter who perished when the Twin Towers fell. A large part of Alex died that day as well. And he made a vow to take out the bad guys in the world so no other child or family would have to experience what his did in the tragedy.\n\nWhen Alex moved to LA after 9/11, he put up a wall separating his past from his future. That included pushing away his high school sweetheart, Holly. Holly originally followed him to LA, where he rejected her again. She remains in California, moving forward with her life. But their paths are bound to cross again.\n\nI really liked seeing how Clay and Jaime, Joe and Wanda, Eric and his wife were all doing a few years later. And the introduction of Alex's character and his way back to faith was good and well written.\n\nThere were some gaps in the story line that left me confused and trying to reread...the ending seemed rushed with the fire.
