By the Cauldron does this book series just keep taking me for loops.

I really enjoy this book and could not put it down, despite the fact it very obviously suffers from the second book curse. The only time I put the book down was when a certain Fae was being too cute and I had to blush in public.

That being said, I can see how some people have issues with the book especially with the emotional abuse between Feyre and Tamlin. Another critique I see a lot is that it constantly recaps events of the first book, but in my eyes it's totally warranted here because it is an accurate depiction of trauma, of survivor's guilt. Especially given the fact that this book is set less than a few months after said traumatic event.

Also I like how the first book was a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a highlight on the morals. This book follows a similar vein but uses the Hansel and Gretel fairytale as a basis (and a recreation in the book). Is the next book Sleeping Beauty or Snow White?

Definitely worth a read and a continuation onto the next book.
