The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
3.0
Actual rating: 3.5/5 stars
On the whole, I really enjoyed this! I flew right through it, could have easily read it all in one day if I hadn't had homework to do. I liked the book club aspect to it a lot-- it really brought something new to the story. I'm normally not one for second-chance romances, but this was done pretty well.
My only complaint, which was enough to bring it down from the 4 star it would have been otherwise, was that I just could not like Thea. Even though the book switched POVS between Gavin and Thea, it was very clearly written so you would be on Gavin's side, wanting them to fall back in love. It made it hard to like Thea as she lashed out and resisted over and over, especially because she wasn't all that introspective in her POVs, so it took a while to understand where she was coming from. It also meant that I pretty much hated Liv until the very end, as well. And while I did ultimately like the romance, it was kind of hard in parts to root for it when I didn't like half of the couple.
