This was fine but forgettable because I read Tessa Bailey's Fangirl Down recently where the FMC is proving she can manage her diabetes and get out from her parents thumb, just like Mickey wants to stop being coddled by her parents and mange her thyroid condition. And in both books the MMC finds out about their condition and helps them.

I definitely liked the first half of this book but then it dragged. The first half we see Mickey getting hired by Diego Acosta to waitress at his bar, and the misunderstanding that
Diego will be her boss. Then later Mickey discovers he's a student in the online writing class she's teaching (she took the bar job to make ends meet).
Since their relationship is complicated they know they shouldn't be together but they can't keep their hands off each other.

But then it drags. Diego is trying to get over his wife who died 5 years ago. The bar was her thing, and he took it over. That's part of why he's been struggling with it. At one point he meets with his brother-in-law and asks for his blessing to date Mickey and the guy is like dude everyone knows you like her we've been waiting for you to get back out there.
But even then they until Diego graduates from her class. And there's an incidence where she gets sick from her condition and passes out and Diego learns this the hard way.

But yea just not that memorable after the first 50%. There's an HAE of course.
