Crave
by J.R. Ward
I have to say, I wasn't totally into this entry in the series. I'm not sure what it was. Maybe it was Grier and Isaac. It was still worth the read; it just took me longer to finish than anything else by Ms. Ward. I didn't feel the need to forget my whole life just to finish it. And after seeming to tone down her ridiculous name dropping and strange lingo in the first book, Ms. Ward was back with a vengeance. It rivaled any of the BDB books for writing. Oh well, I've read enough of her stuff that I'm totally used to it. Anyway, Jim is on the trail of assignment number 2 which involves a man from his days in XOps - Isaac Rothe. Isaac is on the lamb after deserting XOps and the man in charge, Matthias is after him. In the previous book, Matthias had ordered Jim to kill Isaac in exchange for information. Jim learns a lot in this book, about himself, the battle and Devina. His vengeance against her is growing and it should be interesting to see where the next volume takes us.
