Whew boy. This one was an emotional roller coaster. I cried, I laughed, and I cried some more.
Emersyn is truly a survivor. The horrors that she’s had to experience are terrifying. I’m so glad it was Freddie who got to be her hero. They both needed each other. He was the shoulder, the avenger, and the comedic relief…and this heavy story definitely needed some levity.
This one hit close to home because I know exactly what kind of treatment they forced on Emersyn. Electric Shock Therapy or Electroconvulsive Therapy. Someone close to me who has Bi Polar disorder with acute depression was treated with ECT. The fact that it was done multiple times to her…Jesus.
I can’t wait to see her “uncle” get everything he deserves.
