My first real foray into Arthuriana! This was a lot of fun, especially having listened to the amazing audio version of an already spectacular translation. I'm listening to some essays on the history of Arthurian myth and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight was highlighted as one of the best entries in the genre. I can't speak to how it compares to other entries (yet!) but it was very good and the alliteration was addictive. I don't know if the conclusion meets our current expectations of how to conclude a story in a strong manner but it was not written for a "modern" audience anyway and I enjoyed the balance between upholding an almost impossible chivalric code and the fallible human nature. Also, Morgan did nothing wrong.
