The Assassin King by Elizabeth Haydon

3.0

I didn't read the previous six books, thinking that the start of a new trilogy would be easy enough to pick up, but it took about a hundred pages to figure out what was going on. (Why do so many characters have multiple versions of their names, and also have their names start with the same freaking letters?)

After I was sort of able to grasp who the hell everyone was and what was more or less going on, it was a fun enough story. The love bits between Rhaspody and Ashe were a complete drag, but luckily, they stopped being around each other about halfway through, which fixed that problem (mostly).
