A Duty to the Dead by Charles Todd

3.0

Bess is a serving nurse injured when her hospital ship is targeted and comes home to deliver a cryptic message from one of her now-deceased patients

Enjoyable for its wartime atmosphere in 1916 England and I like the cast of characters and its homey flavor.

The story is weak. There was one clue that was dropping all over the place and ignored while other clues were pretty obscure. The event that touched off the ultimate conclusion was clearly fabricated for convenience.

I did like the segue Todd left.
