A Fate Inked In Blood by Danielle L. Jensen

5.0

I’ve been describing this one as Vikings with magic from the gods. As someone who doesn’t know much about Norse mythology I found that aspect of the book easy to dive into. The author did a good job making it feel accessible to someone without prior knowledge.
I really enjoyed all of the action that went on in the book. I found the pacing of the book to be pretty good. There was a good mix of world building and action that just kept me wanting to know what happened next. I liked getting to see various parts of the world as they travelled.
On to the characters, overall I felt like they were pretty well written. I found our main character to be a little frustrating at times. Her life went through some major changes, but I feel like she still has a lot of character growth that she needs to go through. My favorite character of the book is definitely Bjorn.  I think we will learn even more depth about his backstory in the next book and I’m so excited for that. I really enjoyed their romance and thought the tension built up through the story was so good! All of the other side characters were good and definitely played the roles author wanted them to have well.
There were some moments of surprise that I wasn’t expecting. Some things I was able to predict before they were revealed.
Overall this book had a grip on me. I definitely plan on continuing the series. I would recommend for anyone looking for a fantasy romance with a bit of spice.
