This was a fun story, pretty typical of an Alistair MacLean yarn with all the plot twists and turns one comes to expect from him. Similarly to his immediately preceding book, "The Last Frontier", some of the plot development hinges on the ineptitude of the main character, but in this case it's more understandable since the protagonist in this one is a scientist rather than a spy. A good, fun read.
