I am super picky about this genre and this book was just okay. I don't mind shorter stories, but this one would have benefited from being a little longer. It does have an interesting premise. Unfortunately, there are a lot of missed opportunities in further world building and character development. I don't feel inclined to read more of this author's books simply because I'm afraid they'll fall into the pitfall of much of this genre - repetitive themes, characters, and plots.
