I LOVED The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, so I was really excited to read this one! Unfortunately, it felt kind of flat for me.
Loved:
- the cast of characters!
- Found family trope
- Bookstore scenes, obviously
Didn’t love:
- Could have done with fewer characters/names. Too many with minor parts that don’t really contribute to the story or character development.
- Why did everyone accept that Nick was there
- I feel like Nick wasn’t written realistically, or anything to do with him. For example, why did everyone just ACCEPT that he was there?
- What was the point of the epilogue? Lol
I know there are many people who loved this one, so if it’s on your list I’d still say give it a shot! I’ll still read more of Abbi Waxman’s books!
