As someone who is really into cult stuff as a subgenre of true crime, I enjoyed this book a lot. She hit on a lot of topics really well, and managed to successfully (I think) paint a picture of what it's like to be both a victim and a weapon. Gail Shalan's narration was great.
I'm annoyed that the description likens it to The Substance, we don't have to market everything by saying that it's like something else! Especially when it's not like that thing at all!
