An absolute masterpiece. Duras’ prose has so much subtext that I had to constantly revisit passages to find more meaning. A brutal existential fiction that has some very upsetting stances on the experience of women and the traumas they have to carry in their lifetimes. If you found this book boring, you’re reading it at surface level.
