I really did like this one. We got a ton of Astley, who is easily my favorite character at this point. We got to see Zara dealing with some of the consequences of her transformation. She started to get very conflicted about her feelings for Astley and it was all very go-go-go from the beginning.

The things I didn't like:

*spoilers*

The end was tied up in a neat bow for the most part, except that Astley was left out of that bow. He's constantly regulated to the outside looking in and he's too interesting and complex a character for that. I want to know more about him, see more of him and to let him come in and interact with more than just Zara and the pixies. I'd like to see him with her friends, in her world. We got a little of it but he always got shoved right back out. There is a fourth book due out in 2012. I hope this one will touch on some of the things I'm looking for with Astley.

Nick came back. Eh it was nice in that reunion way. He's a big part of their circle of friends and it plays into more than just Zara being happy he's back. He's just...goody two shoes boring to me. I'm hoping him having to deal with Zara's transformation and Astley will help round him out and give him a little more than black and white cardboard motivations I'm still not certain I'll like him if it does. He and Zara always seem very saccharine and flat while there are layers, motivations, twists and interest to Zara and Astley.

Over all, despite my problems with it, I really did enjoy it.
