matthew_riot 's review for:
Ulysses
by James Joyce
OK, after a week plus and another book, I'm ready to write a review.
It's alright.
If I found a coal mine in my backyard I could be rich and successful for the rest of my life, but only if I was willing to put in hard labor every day for the rest of my life. Otherwise I'm best off selling the coal mine and being a little bit better off. This is Ulysses by James Joyce. I will explain the metaphor, to get the most out of this book you need to read it over and over, you'll need multiple reference books, you'll need jokes explained. Sounds like lots of fun, right? But you'll be a successful reader, because you "get" Ulysses by James Joyce.
Otherwise, without those things, reading it once, it's OK. Interesting, the relationship with his wife.
