Celui qui sera mon homard by Tom Ellen, Lucy Ivison
4.0
Sam & Hannah don't know each other. They're both 17. They're both taking final exams at high school. They both live in a London suburb.
To their own dispair, and to their friends'dispair too, they're still virgin. And it is known that you can't go to university without having lost your virginity...
Each one of our main character plan to make the leap during their holidays : Sam & his pals are going to the Woodland Music Festival, Hannah & her mates are going to Kavos in Greece. But nothing never happens as expected. Missed opportunities, friendships are tested & love is deceived...the path is harder than expected.
Sam & Hannah, 2 lives alike. 2 paths different. 2 destinies that intersect.
Love & sex, sense & sensibility, true friendships & social interactions : everything is reunited in this novel, full of humor, accuracy & emotions.
Co-written by Lucy Ivison & Tom Ellen, this novel is a very favorite. The story alternate the point of view of Sam (part written by Tom Ellen) with the point of view of Hannah (part written by Lucy Ivison). It gives even more pace & strengh to this tale. We have access to the feelings characteristic of boys & then, to the ones'characteristic of gilrs. Therefore, we can't do nothing but relate to the characters or to remind ourselves our own teenage years.
Tasty detail (yes, my curiosity is misplaced, but i can't help myself with it ;) )
Tom & Lucy, our co-authors, are now co-workers & very good friends. They met in High School & had a beautiful love story. We can't help but wonder about how much this story (and these characters) is inspired by their own life.
Plus: a delectable title and a tasty summer cover!
