I loved the concept of an author getting sucked into a world of their own invention and living in the life of one of their characters, and what a wild and entertaining ride this book turned out to be for Adam and Nylian! It was fascinating to experience the magic of elves and orcs and wizards through Adam's eyes, and while he may have been the creator of the universe, its people had minds and hearts of their own. I was so entertained to see how Adam's carefully crafted plotlines fell apart in a matter of hours, and as he scrambled to keep up with the new twists and turns of the story I was eager to see how everything would play out. Nylian was still at the center of everything, but instead of a dashing prince with a harem of female love interests, he was much more focused on avenging his twin brother and flirting with Adam at every chance he got. The two of them trekked all over the kingdoms in their quest for answers, sometimes on their own and sometimes joined by a pair of wizard and mercenary siblings. Adam was super oblivious to Nylian's flirting to the point that I wanted to scream at him to open his eyes, but much to my delight Nylian took matters into his own hands before I could get too frustrated. The two of them had insanely hot chemistry once they stopped dancing around each other, and I fell head-over-heels in love with their relationship pretty much right away. Nylian was every bit the sexy, dazzling prince Adam had written him to be, but with 100% of his energy directed at Adam's pleasure. Nylian's drive to get answers about his brother's murderer pushed the main storyline forward, and I have to say that some of the reveals in this book were pretty shocking for me. I love how much Jocelynn Drake kept me on my toes, even if it led my favorite characters into some pretty dicey situations along the way. By the time Adam and Nylian reached the end of their story, they'd been through all the ups, downs, lefts, and rights of a proper quest and had more than earned a breather from the chaos. I was thrilled by how happily their journey ended, and while a part of me will always be curious about the life Adam left behind, it's safe to say that he's found his home and his true love.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
