Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Woodring Stover

Breezed through this book; ROTS is my all time favorite movie so I was incredibly excited to read this book and get to actually know what the characters were thinking.
Some things I wish were done better, though, was the ending. Basically everything that happened during and after order 66 I was just a little disappointed in because I was hoping it would be more Anakin focused. That’s on me for wanting this, but I also just overall find it weird that the author didn’t delve deeper into Anakin’s perspective once he was Darth Vader. Like his transformation to Vader was told through other perspectives but I wanted to know everything Anakin thought. I wanted to see his thought process during the entire execution of Order 66, and the battle on Mustafar. I kinda feel like the author was scared to go into Anakin’s thought process during this time tbh.
Other than that, no other complaints. I mean some sequences were hard to follow but that’s also Star Wars for you lol. I do think you can only read this if you’ve seen the movie and can follow along in your head because of the movie, otherwise it would be difficult to understand.
The author is obviously a very skilled and talented writer and excels in description and dialogue. I really liked the added elements in this book, especially the extra dialogue bits that really added to the overall plot. The building relationship between Anakin and Palpatine was written very well, and even I was convinced by what Palpatine was saying. The book also definitely helps fill in plot holes from the movie/missing bits of info which is really helpful.
Overall, very enjoyable read—absolutely loved getting to read Anakin’s descent into the dark side.
