This was exactly the book I was looking for at this point in time. I wanted soul searching, self-discovery, humour, yearning, and the great outdoors. This was exactly that book. 

I watched the movie back in December, knowing that it was based on this book, and loving it. I put the book on my TBR after I finished the movie and am so glad I finally got to it. The book, in my opinion, was better than the movie. The book had more yearning. It had more humour. It had more depth to the brother-sister relationship (and a better resolution). It had a better ending.

Though, whoever cast the movie got it so right. Overall, I can see that someone who doesn’t love the outdoors may be a bit bored reading this, but I am not that person. I loved it and felt hopeful, rejuvenated, and joyful after I finished it.
