The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska

3.0

This sapphic witch YA fantasy novel has nods to Polish history and culture. I have never read anything like it and that alone kept me intrigued. The beginning really drops you into the story and immediately had my attention. However, the second half of the book could have been shorter; in my opinion the pacing got slow and the plot predictable.
Still, I loved how well this captures the fine, volatile lines of envy and desire of sapphic attraction.
