Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

5.0

5/5 - This book is a gift to working women!

I blew through this book. For starters, I've been a huge fan of Shonda. As an aspiring writer, it's incredible to see successful women in the industry, and Shonda Rhimes gives you the perfect behind the scenes peek you're dying to see. If you are interested in Hollywood's inner workings, I recommend this book for you.
If you feel like your life is at a stand-still and you're not as happy as you could be, I *highly* recommend this book for you. Shonda goes from her comfort zone of staying home and letting her life pass by (which, let's be real, we can probably all relate to) to saying Yes to everything and living her life to the fullest.
She transforms from a self-conscious, shy woman, to a major boss that she has always been.

Honestly, this book discusses so many real topics, from sexism and different views/expectations society has on women in general, to the challenges of motherhood, juggling work and life... The list goes on. This book inspired me to go out there (once the quarantine is lifted) and look at my life a different way.

I think right now is the PERFECT time to pick up this book and read/listen to it. There's not a single thing I would change about this masterpiece.
