So [b:The Shadowhunter's Codex|13568619|The Shadowhunter's Codex|Cassandra Clare|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1358696072s/13568619.jpg|19147213] is basically the textbook for shadowhunters to read. It reads like a textbook. However it is more interesting than an average textbook than you read for school. Clary, Jace, and Simon both have notes written in it. Sometimes the notes are funny and add a lot to my enjoyment of the book. Let me also say that the illustrations are absolutely beautiful.
Let me point out to you that this book is not a story book as it has all the rules in the shadow world. If you do find something confusing (law) then this book may be able to describe it better for you so it is helpful in that way.
