A reflective look at how the death of a teenage girl effects the lives of members of a small town.
The reader is thrown right into the lives of a group of women that are varying levels of associated to Lucy, a girl who dies suddenly one May.
The telling of the story is done in a very stream of consciousness way that allows the characters to feel very human. This, mixed with the very real situations thoughout the story, make you feel like you could be a member of the town. Like you are sitting down with each of the 10 girls and women and hearing their very individualized perspective of the events leading up to, during, and after the death of Lucy.
Everyone has their own level of truth and you, as the reader, have to figure out where you stand in the end. The story does not solely focus on Lucy though, as no human can ever have only one thing going on in their life.

I enjoyed this book more than I expected and found my self reading it quickly so that I could hear everyone's stories.
