A beautiful book from start to finish. Both melancholy and humorous, it was a true snapshot of working through life and the complicated relationships we all have. As a woman in a primarily male dominated field, I empathized with Sadie; as a person living with chronic pain I empathized with Sam; as a human I wanted deeply to smack them both upside the head several times through the book. This novel is a heartfelt love letter to growing up, friendships, dealing with trauma, living with pain, and of course, to games.
