Years ago a betrayal led to Scarlett Grey’s family legacy destroyed, the death of her parents, and the magic stripped from her and her twin sister. Now they are barely surviving job to job. Quinn Adams, runs an apothecary but most of her wealth comes from her underground job, selling poisons. Their rivalry is fierce and passionate, they’ve stolen each other’s clients, sabotaged each other’s business, tried to kill each other and occasionally… slept together.

Scarlett and Quinn’s dynamic is so intense, at times it felt almost too dark but it never went too fair. Their bond is magnetic. The team assembled for the mission are all very different personalities, and they created a really wonderful found family. Striling, Scarlet’s twin, is hilarious and I am already craving more information about her past relationship with Morrigan. Thankfully all the books are already out, so I am going to read that one now.
