The Baron in the Trees by Italo Calvino, Archibald Colquhoun

adventurous challenging slow-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Character

2.5

a slow read, found myself struggling to stay motivated to get through it. also a little tragic; the main character retreated to the trees and lived off the land and found value in harmony and mutual respect but his theories for governing and cohabitation were ignored because of his remoteness from society.
