Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter
3.0

When I think of Lynn Painter, of course I think of Liz and Wes from BTTM. This is my first time reading one of her adult books (and my second overall…) and while I enjoyed it, and had many moments that made me grin or laugh out loud, it wasn’t a complete hit with me.

Things I loved:
The nephews!! They completely stole the show for me, and Aunty Liv was one of my favorite things.
Liv’s positive attitude, and ability to laugh at herself and turn situations around.
The banter. Top notch.
The friendship between Jack and Collin

What I didn’t love:
Mostly it comes down to the families - on both sides. But especially Liv’s family. After getting dumped and accidentally setting her apartment on fire, she goes to live with her brother Jack and his roommate. But every time we see Jack, he’s calling her a spaz, telling her what a screw up she is, or otherwise putting her down or mocking her in some way. And there isn’t even a big moment where Collin comes to Liv’s defense!!

Cute and funny, but unhappy with some of the character relationships. A little missed something for me.
