I found this book in the local op-shop.  It appealed to me for two reasons.
1. my love for music
2. ASL aka MND

while this book is a few years old, and there may be some advancements, can I just say that MND is shit.  Seriously, what a shit disease.  It's right up there with Huntington's, Dementia, Parkinson and alzheimer's.

Richard is an accomplished classical pianist.  He lives and breathes piano.  He is one with the piano and can emotionally move a concert hall full of people to tears, with his fingers on the ivory keys of his Steinway.

One day he notices that something is not right, his fingers don't do what he asks them to do.

He's hoping it's tendinitis.  It's not.  It's worst.  It's ASL (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) or MND (motor neuron disease).

Having to sell his apartment to fund for the care he needs, he suddenly finds himself back at his is ex-wife's house.

Karina has been divorced from Richard for over 3 years, but when she sees how much he is deteriorating, she knows that he has to come home.

It's a slow start, but be warned you will cry, and it will make you appreciate your able body.

Look after yourself, and love those that love you.
