I listened to the Spotify Classics audiobook narrated by Cynthia Erivo and it was an absolute delight. I’m thrilled that I loved this just as much as I did in college; not that it’s a surprise, as its premise is basically my #1 favorite trope. Anne and Wentworth are so dramatic and angsty and it makes me SO happy. I also really enjoyed hating almost every other character in this book— they are truly SO ridiculous and petty and nosy and it really informs the social commentary Austen is so good at.
