This was a pretty easy read for me. Fast-paced, and the writing style is really compelling too. The premise, as suggested by the title, is pretty wild but my disbelief was suspended well. I thought the book was an interesting exploration of sisterly solidarity and the intricacies of a sisterly dynamic.
Kerode just seems to be desperate for someone to have her back, and given the elder sibling guilt she feels for Ayoola's experiences in childhood it's not surprising she supports her absolutely insane sister in the way she does. The ending wasn't what I expected from the story but I do still feel satisfied by it.I'll be honest, I think it would've been better if they went back and killed Tade but I understand there was no plausible way to get away with that so I'll accept the ending I was given lmao.
The only thing that holds this back from 5 stars for me was the characterisation of Ayoola. She was soooooo unlikeable (she's a serial killer so valid), though it did make it difficult for me to believe she kept seducing all of these men!Especially when Tade just immediately became enamoured by her - it didn't make a lot of sense to me character-wise. This might also be because we are in Kerode's head and I'll be honest it seems she felt the same way I did. It is difficult to get this balance right, and I'm just not sure the level of unlikeability of Ayoola served the story as well as it could have.
