This was beautiful, flowing prose, gorgeous metaphors, detailed, melancholic, heartfelt… everything wonderful I love in a book.
It was a lovely story about a group of very flawed human beings, finding the pain and beauty of their flaws as they relate to themselves and each other. I especially loved that the story focused on strong male emotions and how deeply they feel for those they love, all done very sensitively and poetically. I loved the paralleled human emotions across all characters, but experienced and felt in their own unique storylines.
This was my first Rooney read and undoubtedly, I’ll read more of her novels. Thank you to my bookish friend, Dana, for lending it to me for my first book subscription book ;)
