i expected this to be a different type of story. i was anticipating more magical realism, but i did not find myself disappointed that it defied my expectations. piranesi was such a nice narrator to read from and his view of the world was just so kind and appreciative that it made me want to be a more grateful and forgiving person. minus half a star for being a little tedious to read at some points
