Cart and Cwidder by Diana Wynne Jones
3.0
Cart and Cwidder is the type of book that suffers from a lackluster execution of an amazing premise. I feel this book (or rather this premise) could have been a 5/5 for me had it been twice as long and aged up. It fits its middle-grade label, but I wish it had been adult fantasy or even YA. Perhaps I am simply too old for this book now (for I think I would have liked it tremendously when I was 10/11) but I felt this premise easily had the potential to be massive standalone at least or an epic trilogy if I really got my way. But, if you are looking for a good book for a younger age range, you couldn't go wrong by looking here.
