“I’ve never met someone who is so perfectly my favorite person.”

“If you think the story has a sad ending, it's because it's not over yet.”

“That’s the key to marriage. You have to keep falling in love with every new version of each other, and it’s the best feeling in the whole world.”

This book was lovely. I have officially read all of Emily Henry's contemporary romances (that I know of) and have loved them all. And yes, I fully plan to read Happy Place as soon as it comes out. I almost want to read People We Meet On Vacation again so that I can fully compare my rankings but I don't think Beach Read beat out PWMOV for best Emily Henry romance but it came really close. I really loved Gus and January. They were both so grumpy and perfect for each other. January's storyline that revolved around her dad was really touching to me. And to be perfectly honest, I think Henry writes perfect banter.

I had so much fun with this that I don't have a lot of complaints. However, after three contemporary romances from Henry, she writes the same book every time. Boy and girl meet, spend 2/3rds of the novel getting to know each other/having the best banter, miscommunication and self-esteem issues lead to third act breakup, boy and girl find their way back to each other. This is a tried and true formula and I obviously loved it but I'm interested to see if Happy Place has any kind of twist to this recipe.
