This was such a great re read. I read these books years ago and decided to revisit them. I absolutely loved getting back to them. I really needed some old favorites for some comfort reads. What I love about these books is how they just make the scriptures come alive. In the first book, we have the author narrating this book which focuses on three young teenagers who find themselves back in time in the years of Nephites and Lamanites and run into friends and enemies. We see many favorites such as the prophet Helaman, Captain Moroni and Teancum.
The writing is rich and the bold and full of humor. I love the blend of adventure, well researched settings that just make these Book of Mormon times come alive and some childhood love. Seeing these boys get caught up in the plots of the stories that we all grew up with was so full of fun. Chris Heimerdinger really makes these characters come alive. And the emotion is so deep when you least expect it.
Overall it was a blast to return back to the beginning of this impactful series that is good for ANY age to read.
