New Moon by Stephenie Meyer
3.0

Much like the first book, I found this compelling and ridiculous at the same time. And by ridiculous, I don't mean the paranormal theme. I am not sure what it says about this series that I enjoyed it most during the portion when Edward was absent. I thought Bella a much more compelling heroine interacting with Jacob that the codependent, perpetually collapsing, willing to become a blood-sucker for all eternity on a whim, mess she is with Edward. I found myself rooting for him not to return. Which of course I knew he would, because obviously more professions of undying love and being carried about were required.

But still, I find myself compelled to root for Bella. To follow her story late into the night, even when I find myself frustrated and rolling my eyes. Even when the thing I am hoping for most is that she wakes up and finds some sense.

Fun. Distracting. Ridiculous. Irritating. Addictive.
