acsaper 's review for:
Villa Incognito
by Tom Robbins
Found it amongst the used fictions books in Itaewon's What the Book. Stashed it away behind some other books on the bottom shelf so no one would take it. Came back a few days later, sold some old books, found this again, untouched, and bought it! I enjoyed the last Tom Robbins that I read and having a feeling that I won't be let down by this piece. What better time to start reading about it then when headed for SEAsia where, according to the book jacket, part of the story takes place! 8/30/2009
Glad I stashed it! There's nothing like reading fiction that just so happens to take place in the strange remote areas through which you are currently traveling. It's even better when the story is one contrived by the literary mastermind, Tom Robbins. His stories are seemingly always the product of insane genious and so enthralling that I simply never want to stop. The only problem is then the book flies by all too quickly and is finished before I know it.
Following Dickie, Mars and Foley through the jungles of South East Asia was a trip, primarily because I am currently on a route that will lead me through just the places that they carried out their adventures. I've yet to come across any wild Tanukis but, if any of my sake goes missing, I certainly won't hesitate to place the blame on our furry little friend!
No time for real reviews, it's Bangkok time!
