Justin and Emma meet online when they discover they suffer from the same curse. Every time they date someone, the next person they date they marry. They propose meeting over the summer to date and break the curse. It's supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. They suddenly realize they are experiencing feelings for each other, but so much seems to be pulling them apart too.

Wow, this book. Abby Jiminez tore my heart out and broke it so many times during this book. Both Justin and Emma are beautifully broken people. This is a story about healing, forgiveness, love, friendship and so much more. I will admit that I was way more invested in Emma's story, and her character arc than Justin's, but both of them were so interesting.

The side characters in this book were great and well-developed. From the friend group of Justin's, and Emma's bestie, Maddy they were there for their friends. Even more developed was Emma's toxic mother. She wrote this character so well.

I liked that there wasn't much in the way of miscommunication in this one. There was a third-act break-up, but it made sense, and the reasons behind it are so healing. This book had all the feels, and you will need a box of Kleenex to wipe away the tears.

This book is painful to read, and if you need to search for triggers, please do. There is a lot of pain, emotion and healing. If you want an emotional read, with a happily ever after, this would be the book for you. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.
