The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai

5.0

5 stars is nowhere near enough stars. I love this book with my whole heart. It's so sad, my god, but it's also beautiful and poignant and important and full of life among so much death. The 1980s AIDS crisis is something that is weighing heavily on me right now, something that I want to read a lot more about. I'm not sure why I'm so drawn to this era and the stories, but this book was an amazing start. It's going to be hard to beat my undying love for Yale Tishman.
