The world ended almost a century ago when a deadly fog took over the planet. In a small Greek island a small village survived. The village is ruled by three Elders, and the villagers are happy to obey their every order because they know that the Elders are keeping them safe from the fog outside their protective dome. All is well until they wake up to the dead body of the leader of the Elders, and their memories erased. Emery, the only villager that ever dared to question the Elders, knows that she has the skills to decipher the mystery behind the Elder's murder. Not only is she tasked to investigate by another Elder, but the leader's death has deactivated the security system keeping them all safe from the fog; only by discovering the culprit will they have the key to reactivate their safe haven.
Boring! The premise was enticing, but I was bored. I do think that if it were not for the audiobook, I would have DNF'ed this book very quickly. I didn't feel any satisfaction after the murder was solved; maybe I should've DNF'ed.
