Ramona and Her Father by Beverly Cleary

4.0

This entry of the Ramona series finds her father losing his job at the beginning of the story and follows the family as they cope with that change. Ramona's father also quits smoking at the behest of his daughters. Cleary does not shy away from difficult topics, and does a nice job of portraying the kinds of thoughts, emotions, and worries any young child would have at the uncertainty of what the future will bring.
