Call Me by Your Name by André Aciman

5.0

There was something about this that was so beautiful and beautifully heartbreaking, yet touching. I just loved it. Normally, I would shy away from overly verbose writing but it struck a balance between being too much and just perfectly lovely. Part of me is not sure if I would have loved this as much had I read this in print .. it may have been *only* four stars, but something about Armie Hammer's narration of the audiobook made me fall in love with it even more. This would definitely be a reread/re-listen for me. Have not seen the film. Later.

The hands down stand out moment for me was Elio's conversation with his father after returning from Rome with Oliver. It is what every child wants and deserves from their parent but few get. It was a moment I don't think I'll forget anytime soon.
