Unveiled is Francine River's novella exploring the story of Tamar entering Judah's household as the chose wife for Judah's eldest son, Er. Er dies leaving Tamar childless. Tamar is given to Judah's second son, who refuses to father a child with Tamar to continue the lineage and receive the blessing due Er. God kills him. Eventually, Tamar is reduced to prostituting herself with her father-in-law. Judah learns of her pregnancy and demands her death until he realizes that he is the father. Judah acknowledges Tamar's sons (they are twins), and the lineage of Jesus continues.
