Gunmetal Magic
by Ilona Andrews
I was so excited when I first heard about this book and I was even more exciting when Amazon told me they__d finally shipped it. The first thing I did was grab the book, hug it and then start reading. My expectations were rather high, because Ilona Andrews is just that amazing an author, and I wasn__t disappointed.
The story is fast paced, packed full of action and with a lot of funny lines. When I wasn__t cursing Raphael for being stupid I was laughing at his stupidity and charming ways. That was a lot of fun! I also loved how Andrea and Raphael__s story was incorporated into the Kate Daniels series. I didn__t have the feeling that it was an actually Kate Daniels (not enough magic going on), but it was just a perfect story for both the main characters and the universe it was set it. I also loved the fact that we got to see one of the beasties again that was introduced into a Kate novella (and was also part of this book). That didn__t happen before in any of the books I have read so far, and I read a lot, and I loved that. It made the book relate to Kate even more.
All in all, this book made my weekend. The story was a real page-turner and gave me a deeper insight into the shape shifter society that previous books kind of lacked. I really hope for the future that there is going to be another book like this in the Kate Daniels universe. Maybe Derek or Julie__ now that would be fun!
