SYNOPSIS:
- Brighton Hills is an upscale neighborhood on the Oregon Coast.
- We get to explore the intertwined lives of 3 neighbors within the community. Paige lost her son in a hit-and-run accident, and she’s coping with the grief by trying to prove it wasn’t an accident. Cora lives a few houses away with her husband and her daughter. Cora suspects her husband is cheating on her, and she’s searching for the truth. Georgia, a new neighbor, lives with her newborn baby & her husband. Georgia doesn’t venture outside her home, and her husband claims she has anxiety & issues that prevent her from leaving.
- The book pulls back the curtain on what is going on in this community.
MY THOUGHTS
- Very well-written & excellent pacing
- Multiple POVs (told in alternating chapters from the perspectives of each of the women)
- The women are likable characters. Although they are flawed & make some bad choices, they are real & understandable.
- Satisfying ending.
- The characters are all very different, which I liked, and the author does a great job of flushing out their personalities. I enjoyed reading about clever, capable female characters.
- For whatever reason, I do like these twisty neighborhood thrillers.
- The author does a nice job balancing some dark topics with some humor sprinkled into the mix.
TL;DR: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Twisty neighborhood thriller with clever, capable female characters
Graphic: Death, Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, Trafficking
