Herding Cats by Sarah Andersen

4.0

This is the most relatable Sarah Scribbles collection that I have read. There wasn’t a page where I was like… “uhmmmm” unlike her first one. You know what that is? Growth! In her art and her thoughts!! (She talks about growth here too) I love how there are so many emotions in her black and white scribbles, especially her cat.

Even though the artist’s struggle was central to this collection, and I am far from what an artist is - I am an English teacher, artistry only crosses my path in the PowerPoints and Keynotes I make or when I design my English board, I really appreciated how it seemed that struggle is a universal experience and we’re all just doing our best to cope.

You know how self-aware and empathizing Sarah Andersen is from her scribbles. I am in an anxious state now more than the usual and somehow going through this collection felt like a warm hand touching mine assuring me that I am not alone.
